Geographical Situation
Canada is the second biggest country in the World. It’s an independent country. It occupies nearly half of the territory of North America, sharing the border of USA to the south anmd to the north east.
Canada is made up of ten provinces and three territories.
The capital is Ottawa.
Customes
1. They are punctual.
2.They call the waiter by putting up their hand and they give tips.
3.They greet by shaking hands and they don’t usually hugg or kiss to greet.
4.They respect the rules of the road.
5.They usually dress more formally than the americans but less than the europeans.
6.Their favourite sport is hockey and if it is played in the street it is called “road hockey”.
A symbol of Canadian identity
The official ceremony inaugurating the new Canadian flag was held on Parliament Hill in Ottawa on February 15, 1965.
The Canadian Red Ensign, bearing the Union Jack was lowered and their new maple leaf flag was raised.
The flag is the symbol of the nation's unity.
Food
-Canadians eat a lot of beef and chicken and some lamb. Other meats such as bison (buffalo) is fairly easy to find.
-Canadians love to barbeque their meat. Canadians barbeque their food even when there is snow on the ground and the temperature is as low as
Drinks
-Canadians drink a lot of carbonated (fizzy) soft drinks, referred to in Canada as 'pop' or 'soda', such as cola and orange.
-Generally these are cheap, especially the larger sizes.
